One of the tricks I've discovered is to create several small record loops (say with a drum or percussion track) so that gives me more options for different beats later (in addition to the offsets etc.). And yet, when I put 2 record loops back to back, getting a beat to record on the first beat of the new loop is surprisingly difficult.
I think I do play a bit early (based on similar issues at times in Logic), but can't really afford that kind of precision when playing live for example (except w/ the panic button of course).
Any ideas/suggestions? I looked into offsets more deeply, but discovered they only move 4 beats. If they moved more, that could solve the problem somewhat, in that I could record long loops and offset them a couple of bars later (say, to get a fill etc.).
