this is the second such post in as many weeks. There has been no words of reassurance from the developer, which i think is a response.
It's a real shame as I love the potential that ALK offerers. I've used it live a few times, and it's allowed me to do some really great stuff. I had a lot of confidence in ALK as I never thought I would use my Mac onstage as I mostly play solo acoustic guitar.
But today, I'm learning how to use Ableton Live.
I've probably spent more than 100 hours working with ALK, and here are the features that I really wish had been resolved:
- turning off live monitoring. I was only using live instruments (acoustic guitar and voice) that didn't need further monitoring, so left in default mode, there would be a horrible phasing sound. The workaround is to mute the track that's recording. Would be fine if the 'revert to original value' worked, so I needed to make a 2nd control region to turn the volume back up at the end. Extremely tedious.
- Sending midi CC messages - nearly got there but it didn't work consistently (kept deleting the CC value I chose). Also, there was no option to send a specific value! Too bad! What I wanted to do was to just hit plat in ALK, and it would take care of the looping as well as changing my effects on my guitar pedals.
